Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is a national charity whose mission is to empower Canadians with disabilities to navigate their world with confidence and independence by providing Dog Guides at no cost to them and supporting each pair in their journey together. Each Dog Guide costs $35,000 to raise, train and place with their handler. Lions Foundation of Canada receives no government funding and relies solely on donations and fundraising events. There are 7 distinct Dog Guide programs: Canine Vision, Hearing, Diabetic Alert, Seizure Response, Service, Facility Support, and Autism Assistance. A Dog Guide is a priceless gift of confidence, independence, mobility and safety.
