Leprosy is a disease linked to poverty. COVID-19 has a disproportionate impact on persons affected by leprosy by delaying diagnosis and treatment. Untreated, leprosy leads to wounds and deformities. Leprosy can be completely cured with a few months of effective drug treatment. If treatment starts at an early stage, most individuals never suffer the damaging complications of leprosy. Leprosy Relief is an Inter­national Humanitarian Organization and a member of ILEP the Inter­national Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations. Leprosy Relief Canada works to restore health, hope and dignity to people affected by leprosy.
